The song starts with an quite melodic, black intro and evolves from fast black metal passages over calm, blues like melodies with polyphonic clean vocals to old school rock and therefore reveals every facet of their capabilities. This made the album sit well with me, especially since I was expecting an album like I Krig. Windir , Cor Scorpii. This makes the album almost a concept album about war. Vreid is one of two bands that formed after the demise of Valfar, and ultimately the breakup of Windir the other being Cor Scorpii. That said, this album just isn't as good as everyone seems to think.

Vreid – V Review

Autonomous, experimental, progressive, unconstrained and still traditional and here and there pure black, all this is describing V.

I really appreciate what Vrrid are going vreiid, and I'm looking forward to hearing what they come up with next. And this sound comes less from cut and pasting a bunch of random shit together than from thoroughly digesting a single influence.

V finds the band playing black 'n' roll, a style which has been attempted many times with only rare success.

Vreid – V Review – Last Rites

What might be more delightful for some of you is the fact that miscellaneous references to Valfar and therefore Windir are integrated into their sound, also they are more subtle which really suits the record. Through constant development they even achieved veeid much greater fan base and now, on their fifth record, they went even further g added progressivity and even a slightly bit of heavy metal influences.

Whether you are following up on the musicians in the band you love, or you just want good new black metal, Veid fits both categories. This happens partly because the "melodies" lack the structure necessary to stand out from one another, and partly because so many of them depend on the same three-note descending pattern.

I really must say that there isn't a thing I would change about this album - it's that vrekd.

Vreid - V review - Metal Storm

The production is a little too clean, but it works well enough for the guitars and drums. But that's just a small part of c. Vreid have perfected black 'n' roll, combining the tools of black metal with the great songwriting of 70's rock and early heavy metal. I guess you'll have to forgive me, because I can't find anything.

Kraft was released by Tabu Records in Well ok, I guess. On Milorgwar-torn themes were brought to the forefront through very confrontational music, meant to grab the listener by the throat with unrelenting force.

No Burzum or Mayhem?

Instead it sounds more like their labelmates Borknagar, especially Universal. Best viewed without Internet Explorer, in x resolution or higher. In a word, no. The production serves it well, never being overpolished--so it doesn't lose f rawness all rock music needs--but instead allowing you to hear every instrument including the bass throughout the album. Vreud album often carried beats under bpm strange for black metal.

Not that this is a bad thing, because the backing band actually sings really well.

The V seems to fulfill every of the meanings mentioned in the introduction, as Vreid never were so defined and matured. V is the first real contender for album of the g.

I got really stoked during the first couple songs of V, but found myself underwhelmed with the album overall. They almost took a blues approach on this album, especially with the slower sound to it. The earthy production helps to outline vreeid facets of the band although the bass is sometimes inaudible.
